Rule Changes | EFL & PL | 2023/24

Well I predicted that after two-three weeks these new time rules would be quietly forgotten. I was wrong it was three days. Man Utd v Wolves tonight, in the first half the ref told players off 3 times for time-wasting on throw-ins. One was booked. There were injuries (possibly fake) and many other general stoppages.

Added time: 2 mins.

What a joke.

The worst new rule is the 30 seconds on the sideline for injury. Today there was a head injury to Shaw but instead of asking the physios on, he refused knowing full well he'd have to go for at least 30 seconds. That for me makes it a very dangerous rule and one that hasn't been thought about properly

Lino should have waved a steak bake at him.

This season's new rules are confusing me.

A team playing in red if they are slightly touched it's a penalty.

A team playing in sky blue the opponents are allowed to play rugby and no penalty.
No confusion.

That's the "interpretation" Webb has instructed his officials to use.

I'm confused by the response Dermot gave about Mcburnie not being offside for the Sheffield United goal. He says Kyle Walker being off the pitch behind the goal was still active thus playing him on.

Can someone explain this rule to me. Because if that is right the scum will be pushing defenders into hoardings to keep their players in goal hanging positions.

It's quite simple really, as under their rules, rag players are never deemed to be offside.

The 7 minutes at the bed yesterday was bullshit, 0% chance it’d have been 7 if it was still 1-1.

The new added time rule, while I am a huge fan of actually giving fans value for money, is an easy and effective (non-transparent) method for game manipulation and to help manufacture some dramatic game finishes this season.

A new rule I’d like to see brought in….

Too many players are now feigning head injuries now when their teams are under pressure or wanting to waste time / break up play.

Obviously we have to take care of players with genuine head injuries so it’s only right that they must remain off the pitch until Club doctor has carried out proper concussion test. At least a couple of minutes before they can re enter play

I saw an incident where one team were piling on the pressure and at the edge of the box. Defender goes down after being hit by ball that wasn’t that well hit. Attacking team have ball in dangerous position but referee , rightly within the rules , stops play for treatment to the defender. Referee gives ball to defending team who launch as far up the park and defender immediately returns to play completely fine.
