Last night 3 times Atkinson decided on a dropped ball, and gave it to Wolves. On each occasion they took possession and didn’t offer it back to City on a plate. The first one they passed it quick and sent the through ball which ended up with Ederson getting sent off. Any refs out there know if it’s Atkinson’s discretion who he gives it to, or are there rules on it?

The team in possesion get it back - the other team has to be 4 yards away at the time.

City fans were clueless ballooning last night due to this.

I remember a Wolves player putting the ball out so treatment could be given to a Wolves player and he then gives them an uncontested drop ball on the half way line lol.

I no longer watch the game i grew up knowing and loving but a new one in which new laws fo the game are made up on the fly it seems.

So Wolves player kicks it out, we take a throw in and then kick it back to them like it has always been.

The ball cant leave the pitch for the game to restart with a drop ball lol.

The ref clearly blew before he kicked it out. Yet some fans almost had a heart attack.

So clearly blew that Raz and a few other players remonstrated when he gave them the drop ball so you can forgive fans for not picking up on it if he did blow the whistle.

Regardless of the dropped ball, our defensive shape was an absolute mess. Otamendi played a high line and walker was 10 yards behind him. Absolute shambles.

There is no if about it. The ref blows and points to where the drop ball should be around 35-40 mins, the Wolves player then kicks it out maybe thinking he was instructed to. The law changed in summer but as we know some of the players are not the brightest/best informed. The Ref just tells him to keep 4 yards away, and Raheem doesn't understand so the ref shields the ball from him. It was right in front of the prime seats on the half way line, and 90% of fans were kicking off about it.

The first one we played the ball forward and Mendy clashed heads with one of theirs, game was stopped by Ref. I’m not sure that means Atkinson was right giving it to them. And that was the decision that preceded Ederson getting sent off.

He didn’t blow for either of the two dropped balls in front of us.
The one with Mendy, the ball went out of play after the clash, then the ref ran over to check them, then he called on the trainers. The ball was out of play well before he came over.
Second one, the Wolves player kicked the ball out as his own player was down further up t pitch. Again the whistle didn’t stop the game, they’re not supposed to stop it unless a head injury.
