Its a power issue on the site mate, just not enough at present.
Can't they just slave the power off a nearby lamppost? I know a good local electrician who could sort that out for them.

I can't see that putting the North Stand back a whole year, with all the empty seats at games the last couple of games it is prudent not to expand too quickly.

Wrong it's better to do it before the demand not after that means you,re losing money. Anyway a few empty seats for the last few games is not a good thing to base a business plan on.

This is old news. The question was asked at focus groups and the answer was at it stands at the the moment there are no plans to go ahead, the owner is a business man and it has to deliver a teturn on investment. Originally they said that there were a number of options as to when it would be done, no announcement was made so it hasnt been delayed as no decision has been made yet

I wouldn't confuse empty seats as unsold seats.

When we say sold out it means just that and if folk don't pitch up for whatever reason, that's their prerogative and the club have had the revenue.

Spot on.

In time we will be able to justify a 62k stadium and and we will build accordingly

If they were not going to build, it makes zero sense to have just made the south stand side of the Colin Bell and East stands premium seats. It would have made more sense to go out from the centre circle on both sides so premium seat holders are as close to the centre circle as possible.

I would say still, very likely on that basis alone.

The last 4 PL home games plus the home derby -

Aston Villa, 45,036
WHU, 45,041
WBA, 45,018
Leicester, 45,000
Rags, 45,358

Emptihad indeed...

Taken from the MEN the other day, this is the average attendance and % of the ground full based on that.
Given the price of the tickets in this country I think those figures are fantastic across the league, barring the statistical outlier in Aston Villa.

Using Spanish clubs in comparison is a little daft as they have a different fan culture over there.

Lets face it, when you swathes of empty seats it looks, well it looks a bit shit really

Manchester United — 99.6% — 75329
Arsenal FC — 99.5% — 59994
Chelsea FC — 99.4% — 41540
Queens Park Rangers — 99.0% — 17820
Swansea City — 98.6% — 20542
West Ham United — 98.6% — 34861
Liverpool FC — 98.6% — 44655
Tottenham Hotspur — 98.4% — 35717
Leicester City — 98.1% — 31699
Stoke City — 97.5% — 27049
Manchester City — 97.2% — 45380
Crystal Palace — 97.1% — 24348
Everton FC — 96.9% — 38359
Newcastle United — 96.3% — 50402
West Bromwich Albion — 94.8% — 25081
Southampton FC — 94.1% — 30598
Hull City — 92.1% — 23396
Burnley FC — 89.5% — 19158
Sunderland AFC — 88.6% — 43157
Aston Villa — 77.7% — 33161

If city believe they can maintain a % anywhere above 90% lets do it
Villa's figure, for a city the size of Birmingham, is an absolute fucking disgrace.

hmmm our figures look a little odd to me 97.1% of 45380 is a capacity of 46700. I really doubt the stadium holds that this year. Even the biggest games that were sell outs Arsenal, Chelsea, United, Liverpool were 45600 ish so I'd say that is our capacity after segregation etc. This gives 45380/45600=0.995 so 99.5% or second in the table if you prefer. Shit journalism at it's best

I think they're not aware (or have deliberately ignored) the reduced capacity due to the expansion.

But this is from the Manchester Evening News for christ's sake. Someone in the sports room should know this as they only have to report on two major teams and a few smaller ones
