Manchester. Always will be.
Its just not near equivalent to running on the road is it, even using an incline. I reckon it is easier to do 5km on a treadmill than 2.5km on the road.

I only use the treadmill but does anyone use both and have an opinion?

I find it easier to run outside. I get so bored on the treadmill it becomes impossible to carry on

From a mental point of view I see where you are coming from but physically obviously the movement of the treadmill gives you assistance in your running stride surely.

Not entirely sure because when you run outside everything changes the surface, incline, wind resistance, traffic can play a part, people and can easily change your pace without noticing really
On a treadmill it will be 10 Kmh no difference at any point. I have always found the treadmill harder, even if i could break through the boredom im not sure I could make 10K and I can piss that on a sunday morning after a night out

I find running outside more interesting because obviously there's more to see, but I go red easily and get embarrassed so that's why a treadmill is perfect. The gym I used to go to was practically empty all the time so no-one saw my tomato face, plus if someone did some in then they were probably going to end up sweaty too because that's normally what happens in a gym, haha!

little hint. if you do take up running on a treadmill don't turn round and talk to friends whilst doing it. It's hilarious for everybody else except you when you go flying sideways as i found out

Does your husband/boyfriend go to the gym with you?

I find running on a treadmill mind numbingly boring.

Would much rather get out there, feel the air and see the world. Much more satisfying and enjoyable.
