Running thread

It will be a shame if you never manage a marathon owing to physical limitations. I recommend the average runner should aspire to run at least one and maybe two or three. The extra mileage, variety of training and diet takes fitness to a different level with secondary improvements at shorter distances, even down to 5k.
Yep, and more importantly there ain't no way your ever going to get more drunk than straight after a marathon, highly recommended

10 x 200m hill sprints tonight with a decent warm up and cool down. About 8.5km total.

On 20km for the week.

Anyone know of any decent races this month or next?

Delamere trail half is a good one next weekend, stockport daffodil is coming up,

Essar Four Villages Half Marathon looks good

Petzl night runner at Rivington as well.

Haha.
This has certainly made me think a little.
Was chatting with someone at work just before Xmas and she's booked in two (in Europe) this year.

I'm fairly sure I wouldn't be able to with my current leg situation. Gets sore around the 11k mark.

OK. Hopefully the injury can be sorted as you think, even if it takes a while. A marathon could be possible sometime in the future. Good luck.

Just looking forward to longer distances again.
Have to fit in all my other exercises too (strength training, yoga, pilates) and fancy taking up tennis again.
But running is integral to all these. Important bit is to keep on moving...

I tried to do a fast run today. Died after 4k.

Putting on 2.5 kgs and a bad case of man flu in December have not helped proceedings!

Tried out my ASICS Nimbus 25s for the first time. They're definitely comfy, but not convinced they are a particularly fast shoe... but I am a workman blaming his tools lol.

With my son at Lancashire county cross country champs in Blackburn this morning and it’s a beautiful day for running. Gonna be a mud bath but he’ll love that and hopefully he does well.
