Why shouldn't people be able to watch on TV and sign up? The only ones that are a pain are the ones that sign up and then don't run,Over 840'000 ballot applications have been received for the 2025 London Marathon.
I don't get why they don't open the ballot a few weeks after the London Marathon. It would cut down on people watching on TV who think "that looks fun" then sign up.

London is a pretty awesome mara and they have it just about right I reckon, any serious runners get in through the GFA or championship system and the rest get a go of the ballot seems pretty fair to me
