RUSH touring again in 2013

Well Zep influenced them in 1974, but they haven't really sounded like Zep since the first album.

It's expensive for sure and a bit disapointing. They've got an incredibly loyal support over here, weren't they told a couple of tours back that they would no longer be promoted for a tour here due to lack of interest and so did it themselves and sold out everywhere.
Roger Waters put his tickets out almost 12 months ahead of the last tour if I remember correctly. I'd guess they've done it to take advantage of the new album due out. Some may think its good marketing and some may think its cynical, surely from a bands point of view they do whats best for them?
I'll end up getting tickets as its almost 4 hours of them which part makes up for the cost as you can end up paying an average of £30-40 for a two hour gig at some places these days.
Of course they were influenced by Zeppelin, hardly on their own on that score but they've moved on with every album and personally I can't pigeon hole them into any one particular genre. They're Rush the band with the squeaky girls voice, or used to be as Geddy's voice has matured over the years. They're Rush the band with the incredibly talented and world reknowned drummer/lyricist/award winning author Neil peart and they're Rush the band with arguably one of the world's most underated guitarists in Alex Lifeson. But more than all of that they're Rush the band that have been together since the early 70's have had personal tragedy strike band members and yet come back everytime to defy the music press and produce a completely different sounding album from they're last. They are definetly not to everybodys taste but they are simply unique in the music industry.

I will say that the only thing about a live Rush show that isn't cool is that there is zero deviation from their setlist or the way they play each song.
