Russian invasion of Ukraine

So I’m 48 hrs he’s gone from “I’ll nuke the planet to the Stone Age” to “I’ll jack up gas prices in Germany a bit”.

And if he does cut off the supply to Europe who’s he going to sell it to? His own citizens will be fucking broke and unable to pay anyway.

He’s seen his arse.

he will sell it to the chinese

Funny enough we are going to replace our gas fire in front room and I’m thinking of going to a wood burner, a gas fire is easy to put on however my thinking is a wood burner is another source of heat, say this gets all a bit silly and gas is cut off at least we have another source of heating in the house.
Do you have yours on constantly? Looking at the price of wood it’s around £50 a tonne, no idea how long that would last, I’d build it up over summer when it’s cheap hopefully a few tonnes would see me through winter.
Go for a multi-fuel stove mate, whilst wood burners are nice, they’re expensive to run and burn out pretty quick, 50kgs of smokeless fuel costs £16 btw.
I use less than a bag a day (£3.99) even when it’s really cold, and it airs the rest of the house out ok (2 bed end terrace), if I do as I suggested above it’ll heat all the radiators all over the house.

Watching the news, 600 Ukrainians in Calais trying to get to the UK, our beurocracy and paper work delaying them, being told to go to Paris or Brussels for the correct paperwork, for fuck sake our government pull your fucking fingers out you useless cunts and get these people here, our government are fucking useless.
They should bring the laptops , printers and staff to the Ukraine border to expedite the visa, not have the poor refugees travel across europe after 2-5 days travelling through a war torn country.

We have a multifuel stove which is on for about 8 months of the year as wife has Reynauds. They are an independent source of heat but be under no illusions, they are expensive to run.

We go through about a dumpy bag of logs every two weeks and about three quarters of ton of ovoids a year.

They are messy too

It’s hardly surprising the B word comes up when discussing our government’s immigration policy in relation to refugees. It was voted for by many people largely on the basis of making it as difficult as possible for migrants to get here, whether economic migrants or refugees from war zones.
Is the B word you refer to you are talking Bollox?

Said all along and still think they’re the key. They’re going to need to choose soon how much they decide to prop Russia up and if they do choose to do that, as much as they can essentially turn it into a puppet state of their own, it’s not going to make up for the potential loss to their economy from Europe or the US.

If they decide not to prop them up, then Russia are really screwed.
