Russian invasion of Ukraine

Very posh indeed mate. Only visitor we had was the rent man and we’d hide from him ;)

I don’t remember pellets as a kid, only the lump coal. But I can see why it would be hard to hide the evidence!! Haha.

Oh the smoke - our lungs must have looked like 40 a day by the time we hit 10, and no way was I smoking more than 5 a day!

Ice on the inside of the single glazed window and going to bed fully clothed in the winter because it’s was far to cold in the morning to get dressed. Mrs MB remembers the tin bath by the fire place with her being youngest getting last dips but I don’t remember that as a kid.

@bluemoon32 i chucked part of a firework on the open coal fire once by mistake. It was fortunate nowt caught fire. Can’t say I miss them days exactly but we were a hardy bunch.

The bed was too cold to get into and a nightmare to get out of in the morning. The lino was too cold underfoot but it was only there because the floorboards would rip your feet to shreds :)

Hardly nonsense. Countries like Germany are dependant on Russian gas, which means it has tempered sanctions to exempt Russian gas until it can transition. The City of London is home to people who want to launder and stash their cash. This means we temper financial sanctions to allow people to move their cash. This signals to people London is still the place to do business, because if the shit hits the fan we will give you time to act.

Russian money in London is used to buy influence. Influence is being kept informed of future decisions, the ability to discuss future policies over a nice meal and to make sure you have a window within which to pull your money if necessary.

It’s the way London works. It’s the way the world works.
All very interesting, but you haven't mentioned how Brexit is relevant to
"Every action the uk take concerning Russia."
AND I'll wager I know a damn site more about the City than you do, so don't patronize me.

Scary stuff.
People in the west need to prepare themselves for difficulties caused by ramping up sanctions to unimaginable levels. No more oil or gas from Russia is urgently needed. The alternative is too horrendous to contemplate, not just for Ukraine but for the whole world.

On a lighter note, I wonder if Everton will change their walk on music.
And Watford

A british guy with a british passport who still has a business here has applied for all the paperwork for his ukranian wife and kids but keeps getting turned away from the ferry saying he hasnt the right paperwork , he has been in hotels for a week and was told the families visas would be done in twenty four hours but still he is not allowed in with his family

If the robot wont even let them through what hope do the others have ffs

Just seen a vid of a Russian APC destroy a civilian car with an an elderly couple in it, fucking disgusting. What kind of depraved psychopath do you have to be to carry out such a thing.
