Russian invasion of Ukraine

As the war in Ukraine intensifies in Ukraine, a petition has been launched on change.org, which targets a former gymnast claiming she is Russian President Vladimir Putin's “lover”. The petitioners, from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, are demanding that Switzerland expels the woman amid claims she is hiding with her three children in a luxury villa.

The former gymnast in question is 38-year-old Alina Kabaeva, an Olympic gold medalist. Several publications, like The Guardian, have claimed that Kabaeva is Putin's girlfriend. The Russian President has, however, never officially recognised her.

The petition has received more than 50,000 signatures since being posted.

"It's time you reunite Eva Braun with her Führer," the strongly-worded petition said.

Just look at the lust in those pictures.

not sure if it changes the context- but that video is from over 5 years ago.
Bloody Ukrainian amateur dramatic society playing silly buggers again!

May well be so, but as you said doesn't change the context and you could have a montage of clips showing their bravery from old people defiantly sticking it out with little provisions in their bunkers to civvies driving their families through Russian lines to get to Poland rather than take the quicker and easier corridors laid on by the Russians.

I've offered her asylum at my place as I think she's the victim in all this

Seen quite a few comments online about how poorly equipped the Russian forces are in terms of medical equipment, which means that even minor wounds cannot be treated. Similarly, a major gripe in Russia itself appears to be the sudden increase in the price and decrease in availability of medicines, which will quickly become a huge concern in an ageing and comparatively poor population.

Strange that on the back of a major public health shock, we still underplay the importance of health/medicine.

Think the deployment of the Belarusian army one way or another will have a significant impact on the direction of this war. I am very surprised Putin has gone for overseas mercenaries rather than the much more convenient BR army on Ukraine's door step that used identical kit, train together and is the base for Russian supply lines.

Can't work out if his **** counterpart in BR is unwilling to do so for fear of internal and external reprisals or whether Putin is now calculating that the risk of BR refusing to go in may have even more catastrophic consequences on his doorstep.

It looks like this Belarusian advance into Ukraine will be the slowest advance in history. By all accounts the Belarusian military are not keen on getting involved and Lukashenko doesn’t want to push it for fear of them turning on him. Trouble is, Lukashenko is propped up by the Russians, so rock and hard place spring to mind.

Lukashenko probably reasoned the war would be over in a couple of weeks and the Belarusian forces could turn up when it was all over.

With the Ruskies deciding to dig in on the outskirts of Kiev, the Ukranians need only to target the supply chain feeding those. They will soon run out of food, water etc, and I would think the supply chain is much easier pickings for the Ukranian forces.

If reports about the fuel, ammo and food supplies to the Russians are correct then I think we can deduce their are counter operations happening in BR (am only aware of the train track attacks so far). I assume Putin may find himself in a position where he has to throw the dice on this one in the coming days.

Reports that UK will be providing Ukrainian military with long range target intelligence suggests you might be right
