Russian invasion of Ukraine

Ukraine has got as far south as Senkove and is fighting in around Kupyansk.

And they are desperate. Imagine if and when Ukraine reach Sevastopol !

They are still the 2nd (or 1st depending on how you count), largest nuclear armed country. Even if they’ve only got 25% of those nuclear weapons working, it’s enough to wipe out the world.
Putin could still go out with a bang…

The Black Sea fleet is iirc the 3rd largest Russian navy - northern, pacific, black

20% of russias ground forces…..that’s mad. Still Putin is a master strategist so he must know what he’s doing.

If Russia didn’t have nuclear weapons, it might be the time for:
Moldova retake their sovereign Transnistria region.
Georgia retake their sovereign Abkhazia and South Ossetia regions.
Japan retake their sovereign (part of) Kuril Islands. (Needs Japan and Russia to sign a peace treaty from WWII !)

Japan could easily (currently) take on Russia - other than the complexities and dangers of seaborne/airborne landings… and what China might think about Japan flexing its muscles.

Georgia, with a bit of ukraine style support could do similar. Though I’m not sure on the population on the ground support.

Moldova, (europes poorest country iirc), very similar situation to Georgia.

These and the more known Donbas, Crimea and the other parts of ukraine, documented here:

Is it too much to ask that when Ukraine have cleared the Russian army out of the country they they launch their own offensive against Belarus for their part in the war?
talking of Belarus whats happend they have gone very quite, i was half expecting an invasion from the North by them to back up Putin
