Russian invasion of Ukraine

Sadly, the BBC does not help itself. Its output quality has progressively declined year on year, both news and entertainment. They haven't upped their game since the start of the Digital era. I pay the License fee but I feel I'm being mugged on an increasing basis. Their output is predominantly fluff; repetitive on a daily basis and increasingly focused on "celebrity" culture (presenters and output) to the point where I'm happy for it to join the dinosaurs.

Maybe Bluemooners are spoilt with our access to "local reporters" who report with little time delay. There's no reason why the BBC can't access that sort of information on the caveat that they check the sources before. If you have a dedicated section, then it needs to be updated on a far faster basis than the BBC's currently is. You can almost see the sagebrush crossing the screen. There are days when no updates are added.
The BBC is increasingly becoming a mere shadow of its former self.

It’s declined as its budgets have declined. Only this week, they’re pulling all the foreign language radio stations which as an act of foreign policy is a horrendous move.

Personally I use both, and it’s worth mentioning the bbc journalists that cover Russia on Twitter are some of the best out there.

No comparison whatsoever, but sounds a bit like another tired giant who wants to be great but isn't willing to admit that modern times have changed dramatically...

no its declined because they spunk the licence payers money down the drain on over inflated prices without a care in the world for eg if the want a tree for background they dont buy one from the garden centre at £50 they pay a firm to buy it from the garden centre who in return charge £250, money spunked down the drain and to line the pockets of the top brass, its always been known as the gravy train, operating on a 1960s funding model in the year 2022 because they know full well if they become a pay to view platform they cant compete

He does. You seem to be the one shouting at a television channel.
Not shouting at all. I simply responded to a comment with zero reasoning.
The fact is that BBC News coverage has gone down the shitter over the last 5 years. I barely watch it it now as it is so poor. Sky is better and CNN and Al Jazeria are miles better.

You do love to come on this website to wind up everyone with your bollox (VAR et al). Any idiot can see that the BBC coverage has been amateur at best, especially when they have a supposed dedicated section. Updates are twice weekly, at best, and can be read elsewhere (Daily Kos) well in advance. I expect my license fee to be spent on quality services rather than on repetitive trash and no-mark "celebrities".
London isn't given the name of Londongrad for no reason. Our society (at the higher echelons) HAS been compromised by Russian graft.
You remind me of one of those grubs that lays its eggs on another animal and those grubs eat the unfortunate recipient from the inside. A fifth columnist by another name.
