Russian invasion of Ukraine

In reality there is no such thing as communism. OK all us at the bottom are equal but every fucker running any regime is sat there in luxury.
Communism is a dream but then you wake up and queue for bread. Meanwhile, the local politician and his entourage drive past in the luxury car on the way to the villa piled high with food.

Offshoot here. Star Trek is what a communist state aims to be. but in a world where replicators have removed the need for money, Anyone can do what they want to do and not worry about material needs as you can just make anything you need/want.

Until material needs are 100% covered off for all, the idea of Communism is destined to fail

Hope he’s right.

It is said that the war in Afghanistan ended because of pressure from the mothers of the dead Russians.
Only 14,500 (estimate) died.
A 3 day jaunt has turned into 3 years and 250,000 soldiers are dead. When is something going to change in Russia ?
There is some genuine reasons to be positive as a number of factors are piling pressure on Putin.

The state of the Russian economy was always a bit of a mystery. How were they able to keep funding the war under the sanctions. Well it seems the economic reality is starting to bite. Inflation is persistently high and the fact that Putin is openly talking about it means its becoming an unsustainable problem.

Putin will have shift resources to domestic production of basic goods and services to get costs down. He has to do this over military spending as military spending is inflationary.

Oil funds Russia and the oil price is super low. So this compounds the above.

There's evidence from the front lines that the UKA targeting of Russian military assets is working. Fewer artillery systems means fewer shells fired. It seems that a breaking point has been reached where the supply of Russian hardware has run out. Russia was already using old stock, now even the old stock is being depleted.

Don't want to get carried away but looks like there could be a turning point ahead.

Ukraine's defense technology cluster Brave1 has launched the development of anti-drone rifle rounds...

...the ammunition appears similar to standard rounds used in automatic rifles but features a specially designed warhead...

The manufacturer has already codified the new rounds according to NATO standards, Brave1 said. The goal is to supply every infantry soldier with a magazine of specialized ammunition for use in case of aerial threats.

"These rounds that significantly improve the chances of hitting a moving target are a new development by Brave1," Digital Transformation Minister Mykhailo Fedorov said.

"Our common goal is to ensure that every infantryman has a magazine of such ammunition and can equip his rifle with it in case of an air threat."

The Ukraine is using the .50 cal with it's drones. I love this type of thinking.

Any economic papers to prove the state of the Russian economy?

Any worry that Putin might escalate from a SMO?

I'm fed up of our leaderships fighting in the shadows like cowards against Russia, on the back of Ukrainian lives.

MI6/CIA were behind the drone attack that attacked Russian nuclear doctrine - just own up to it ffs. Never happen will it?

'Multiple sources were reporting that these were Taurus cruise missiles'

Ukraine doesn't make these missiles. Germany does.

That's a sure fire way to ask for a Oreshnik into Dusseldorf.

Go on then big balls , bring it on, trigger article 5 and prepare for obliteration

This is lunacy. Obliterate it mate - to the last Ukrainianian!

You do realise US have final action on whatever nuclear capacity UK/EU/Nato have?

Do you understand article 5?

It doesn't mean we can launch war against Russia, get bombed and sit there and have daddy USA come to rescue. Tut, tut, tut, no, no, no.

Starmer only gave his speech about ramped up defence spending post meeting with Trump. Connect the dots? America isn't there to defend wars that European parties of Nato get themselves into.

Now ask yourself - why was Nato formed? Does that threat still exist? Who actually benefits from mass spending on military? Who benefited from WW1, WW2?

For what ever madman Putin is deemed to be - surely we are thankful he hasn't hit out yet? Why do you think that is? Do you think it would be better if Putin and Russia lived up to the Western ideal and rain terror on Kiev, drop nukes, invade Finland?

I'm merely suggesting we call the bluff of a shithouse...read between the lines a bit more pal..
So you would think it ok if that war criminal attacked a NATO city?
Behave

The tragedy being that we produce enough to satisfy material needs, but our current system ensures it’ll never be fairly distributed, and someone will always remain in need.

Who's the shithouse in this scenario?

and for what reason is the everyday-man so call with wanting death everywhere - on any side, when did this be so cool? I'm the odd-ball simpleton for thinking everyone is crazy not wanting to kill each other.

and what bluff is exactly being called - WW3? what citizens ever voted their leaders to do that?

Who had in their manifesto - increase military spending, to go fight against Russia?

I don't think it's okay that Russia invaded Ukraine. However I understand why.

I don't think it would be good if Russia sent a Oreshnik into Dusseldorf, turning that factory and surrounding area into a waste-ground and death. However along this timeframe, when Russia does - I'll understand.

What does Starmer, EU, and Nato increasing military spending mean to people? Who exactly is waging the threat?

You say you understand why they invaded Ukraine.
I don't,do tell

Are you suggesting Russia isn't on its arse?

Do you have a semi on for Putin?

No idea if Russia is on it's arse at all - fucked if I'm trusted some Ukrainian youtuber to tell me though. Same as I don't trust 24/7 streams of Twitch stove gas proving that Russia is powerful and stronk.

It's well over 3 years on - if you don't know the reasons don't put it on me to educate you.

Why don't you know both sides of why?

The Russians wanted to steal resource rich land from the Ukrainians. It was a blatant land grab. That's why they invaded. They thought the West would have no stomach for supporting Ukraine and it would be easy pickings.

How do you know MI6 & CIA were involved?

Just the rich resource land in Ukraine is it? Who told you that? When did we know that land was such plentiful - surely Putin would have already invaded years ago?

Obviously tons more to it all, but Russia need a warm weather port, on the South.

Did you know that Putin asked Bill Clinton to join Nato?

What is the point of Nato in 2025 if not an extension of USA hegemony and influence?
