Russian invasion of Ukraine

Hypothermia - How many deaths has Russia factored in? It could be 100k minimum...
Brutal

I never tjought anyone could ever say it,but, the fighting at Bakhmut is getting more brutal by the day.
Russians taking massive losses.
Murmurs Iran are to send long distance missiles for Russian use.
Time for ATACMS if thats the case.

Slava Ukraini.
Other than tying up and killing the opposition what reason would Ukraine have for defending a strategically unimportant area?
Surely they are incurring losses of life as well as the opposition?

It’s symbolic and they are suffering far fewer losses than the Russians.

If the Ukrainians could somehow take back a wide corridor all the way to Mariupol it would lead to the Russians on the left of it with nowhere to run to. I’m no war strategist but that’s what I’d be advising. Anyone else got any ideas?
liberate Mariupol = liberate the south. The left Dnipro bank would be completely cut off. Cossacks would gain fire control over Crimea and most importantly Crimea bridge.

You may have missed this story last week.
155mm gun barrels can't be replaced on the front line.
Incidently:
- Russian gun barrels are totally fucked but they don't rely on accuracy, they are just waiting for the barrels to start regularly exploding (cartoon style) which they will do shortly when they're doubly fucked and the chance of barrel breach starts to rapidly increase.
- NATO standardistion means any NATO standard 155mm can replace any other - so any piece of NATO kit can have it's barrel replaced at the facility. (That said, this has not proven to be quite the case with German Panzerhaubitze vehicle barrels that have had minor issues with non German 155mm amunition).
