Most western countries would need legislation to snaffle these
assets; currently they are just frozen. In true British style we would pass the law subject to all those sanctioned having recourse to a tribunal lasting for ever. It’s fair play, ye ken. No sign of any legal moves here yet.

in November 1994 just before the invasion russian tried to do a blizkrieg in Grozny with several tanks and infantry to overthrow Dudaev. these tanks were chased all over Grozny by ordinary people in the cars! literally! and after the invasion in December 1994 everyone (myself included) thought it'll take couple of weeks for russians to conquer the whole Chechnya. how wrong i was! they fought with nothing but kalashnikovs, grenades and grenade launchers against the whole russian army and they fucked them so brilliantly that russian were forced to sign a peace deal in 1996 (if i remember correctly)
