It might negate the use of short range nuclear missiles… but I doubt it will stop ICBM or SLBM’s.
Not quite hypersonic low trajectory missiles, but certainly going fast enough on their downward arcs to be too quick.

The title of "Poison Dwarf" is apt. Even more accurate might be the title "Poison Dwarf Nonce ****".
