Russian invasion of Ukraine

For anyone interested in reading about the state of the Russian army, there are a couple of excellent autobiographies worth a read. Both detail experiences of the Russian army during the Chechen wars and, even allowing for possible political bias neither show their army in a good light. In fact, apart from the bravery of the individual, it's horrendous and I'm seeing nothing in the current conflict to suggest that anything has changed. Both books are classics imo and well worth a read.

"Freefall: A Sniper's Story from Chechnya" - Nicolai Lilin and;

",One Soldier's War in Chechnys" - Arkady Babchenko
