Russian invasion of Ukraine

ive noticed quite a few arrests being made by the ukrainian security forces of people for stealing and taking bribes

official of the State Medical Service in the case of importation of falsified medicines worth UAH 32 million.

In the Chernivtsi region, the SBU (Security Service of Ukraine) exposed the head of one of the local customs posts on corruption charges. For various sums of bribes, he "guaranteed" entrepreneurs not to interfere during customs clearance of commercial cargo

and yesterday some minister was found with millions under his bed

To deal with human wave attacks:
- lots more drones to identify gathering enemy troop concentrations.
- Lots more heavy machine guns (HMG) and ammo.
- Lots more vehicle mounted chain guns and ammo (about one for every 10 HMG)
- Lots more mortars and air burst ammo.
- Lots more artillary and ammo.

There is a huge problem for certain parties in the US in that by donating the older tech arms to Ukraine and it decimating the ruSSians, it's proving that new technology isn't required
There's so much money to be made in R&D and supply of something shiny and new. People will have been lobbying and demonstrating that new technology is required to stay ahead. Over the years they will have been bigging up ruSSia and this war is proof that ruSSian conventional forces are not a threat and the American arms development "cash cow" is in danger
I've posted before about the huge disparity in the cost of weapons being used. Its part of an emerging problem. A system might cost $100ks to fire. But they are firing them at old Russian tat. Or a small group of convicts. Not sure it makes much sense to buld such expensive systems, its hard to see how it works long term. What runs out first - Russian shit military resources or the very expensive Western made uka gear.
