Russian invasion of Ukraine

The director of the Interregional Fuel Union, Vyacheslav Rovneiko, who was found dead yesterday, became the eighth oil and gas magnate and the eleventh Russian top manager to die under strange circumstances since the beggining of 2022.

Slava Ukraini.
Presumably these people are getting bumped off because Putin perceives that they are a threat. The issue is the more you go round killing top level officials whi have power and influence the more likely that:

You piss some one off to the extent they really put serious time money and effort in to killing you.

And as you go round killing these people the loyalists might start to think that ultimately this is not going so well and maybe there’s a better way.

Maybe another on the way?
Air defence is a shambles in this Region.
Vyacheslav Gladkov, governor of the Belgorod region was reportedly hospitalized with food poisoning.

Slava Ukraini.

I dissagree, the facts are the west has a GDP 35 times that of Russia, China just needs reminding who is its biggest trading partner and customer. Clearly it won't come to a trade war as its the last thing China needs. But the fact remains we are far more important to China than Russia.
While they are getting cheap oil etc so they can ramp their manufacturing back up, after their self inflicted covid measures, they are quite content to see this drag on for a while yet imo.

King Charles sends his personal support today on the first anniversary he said “Ukrainians have suffered unimaginable“

No one can forget Mariupol and Bucha how the people and soldiers suffered defending Ukraine I just wish we could send planes.

True but we, the west, a very bad at coordinating and leveraging that trade power. Its arguably a weakness of a democratic system where you cantvtake short term strategic hits for the greater long-term economic good.

Is a US president ever going to stop US tech firms like Apple using cheap Chinese factories. Trump had a policy that was along these lines but for different reasons and he pretty much backed down as soon as it started to bite.
I thought the trade tariff war was still ongoing between the US and China?
