Russian invasion of Ukraine

Ukrainian Air Force conducted 17 Air strikes through the night.
Some troop positions were hit,but mainly went after equipment.
2 command posts,3 ammo depots,3 Air Defence Systems and 4 Electronic Warfare Stations were destroyed, along with other artillery pieces......390 Russians put to sleep, probably the lowest in months.
Something's brewing.

Slava Ukraini.

A good read.

Kostroma is not a bad place to go looking for the effects of the Ukraine war on Russia. For this city is home to a celebrated regiment that bears its name and has been in the forefront of all the main battles in the Kremlin's campaign against its neighbours.

The 331st Guards Parachute Regiment, often called the Kostroma Airborne Regiment, has been the subject of investigations by BBC's Newsnight since shortly after last February's invasion. These have revealed the price paid by the regiment and its home community. We had confirmed 39 fatalities by April last year, 62 by late July, and now the toll has reached 94.

The Guardian article on Putin, referenced today by KOS, is a fascinating expose on the life of a megolamaniac out of touch with the world and
reality
I read this yesterday, very sad when he says he had to leave his parents in Russia as they believe all the lies and support the war.

I don’t harbour any ill wishes towards the defectors who have the bravery to actually make a run for it towards the west. It’s the ones who know they are doing wrong but are cowards and carry on being part of the machine I have utter contempt for.

The takeaway from this article is that the military families are solidly behind the war and each other, despite serious losses. The rest of the public are perhaps less sanguine.
