Good for Australian families that the wreck of the Montevideo Maru has been located.Unfortunately accidents happen during war.
Today's BBC webpage relates the finding of one such tragic event

The Japanese ship was torpedoed off the Philippines in 1942, killing nearly 1,000 Australian prisoners.www.bbc.com
One of my favourite bands, Midnight Oil, reference it in their song “In The Valley”: lead singer Peter Garret’s grandfather was one of the victims.

When the push happens, and if it goes well, I’m sure we’ll all get swept along in a wave of euphoria, but it’s important to keep in mind at all times that brave people will die defending their country, however well this counteroffensive goes.
It’s an utter fucking tragedy that they will have had to because of one man’s ridiculous ego.
Let’s hope this thing ends as quickly as possible.
