When the push happens, and if it goes well, I’m sure we’ll all get swept along in a wave of euphoria, but it’s important to keep in mind at all times that brave people will die defending their country, however well this counteroffensive goes.

A quick death, should have surrender they were apparently shouting at him too, was on his own as well so no one would shoot him in the back. Guess he went into shock and just froze, but obviously the soldiers can't take any chances.
