As we keep being told about tanks, it's not just a matter of training personnel to use the equipment, there is the maintenance crew to train which takes far longer

A large support structure is needed for maintenance, re supply, fuel etc etc. Each tank needs to be taken out of service for gun barrel replacement/ service. A huge commitment.

One often has to read Russian communications for the deeper underlying meaning and reason as to why they make it, rather than the specific message attached. I read this message as "we are very worried about Ukraine getting F16's"
