Russian invasion of Ukraine

Pretty much NONE.
Sea Viper on ships.
Rapier (ancient) being replaced with Skysabre this year. (Shortish range - a few km)
Starstreak MANPADS in units. (Very short range) - excellent kit taking a huge toll of Russian helicopters and support aviation in Ukraine.
- No real medium range capablity like NASMS (Starstreak is good but not the range of NASMS)
- No long range capability like Patriot.
- No cheap anti drone system like Gépard.

Yes, just another example of how shit our military actually is. You'd have thought it was a priority since Feb 22 - but no another example of how shit this government is.

EDIT: There is a medium range version of Saysabre missile that can be used up to 100km but not introduced yet.
TBF we probably don't need long range missiles to defend the UK mainland. We're not going to have enemy aircraft suddenly appear out of nowhere on our borders (all our neighbours are friendly and anything coming via the sea would be spotted by radar well before it got anywhere near us). Hence radar systems and fighters on alert are what we rely on currently. The missile systems are for protecting ground forces or ships when they are sent elsewhere and for that task shorter ranges are generally fine.

It's fucking shameful the way the British military has been run down.

Not good viewing. Link works.

Ukrainian news reporter published video of evacuation of Ukrainian wounded soldiers on Zaporizhzhia front after the initial assault. The fighters of 47th Mechanized Brigade went through a mine hell there.

Never forget that as a result of the 2010 SDSR, the UK scrapped its in-service maritime patrol capability and also scrapped its replacement leaving Russian subs to have free rein in the oceans around the UK, on the pretext that Russia was no longer a threat and to save a tiny amount of money. If that wasn’t a signal to the Kremlin that we don’t take our own defence seriously I don’t know what would be. This thread isn’t supposed to be political so I won’t mention which new government did this in 2010. Before someone comes on to say that Nimrod MRA4 never flew and would never have had the capability to the job, that was just the government line to justify its cancellation. The reality is that 5 aircraft had flown and it was almost ready to go into service and I say that as someone who worked on it.
We certainly helped set the scene for Russian aggression by our actions.
