Russian invasion of Ukraine

From "The Analyst"

KHERSON FRONT CHAOS

Well the Russians have got themselves into a mess and it seems things have gotten bad enough for High Cimmand to make changes. General Makarov has been relieved of overall command despite the fact many thought he’d brought with him some semblance of order compared to how things were going. Quite what that says about Russian forces is hard to comprehend.
Key points to note:
Ukraine has fire control over much of the south bank for about 12 kilometres inland. The north bank is very high whereas the south bank is almost sea level - the large sand pit which was a national park - is actually below sea level. Ukrainian artillery and even tanks have the capability to shoot down onto Russian forces.
Ukraine has managed to gain EW superiority - Russia sent in a new mobile system and it had barely finished setting up when it was hit by HIMARS.
Russian units tried to move into Krynky only to find themselves wiped out by Ukrainian forces they didn’t know were there - they were surrounded and couldn’t escape.
There’s been a shocking number of complaints on the Russian side about their air force bombing nothing of value. Aircraft are sent on missions, drop bombs and fly home with zero effect.
Ukraine has a lot of advantages in order to retain control of the south bank - artillery support is highly effective. Their drones have wiped out almost all of the Russian artillery positions. The issue is getting more men and supplies over without the Russians seeing them - and enough to create a criticality that allows a breakout.
Obviously it was on a totally different scale, but D-Day was far from instant. It took weeks to get enough force on land to start breaking out and that process itself took another month of heavy fighting. But once the defenders broke they collapsed at lightning pace.
The question is what is Ukraine’s end game here? Is it a breakout? Or is it just another distraction?
