Russian invasion of Ukraine

I mean a battle between liberal democracy/the rule of law and totalitarianism. I’m talking about a threat to the civil and human rights that affect us all and inform the lives we live every day. I’m talking about things like being able to post on this board without fear of being arrested for what we say on it.

That sort of stuff.

Do the Russian oligarchs want to turn their liberal democracy playgrounds (where they laundered their stolen riches without anyone batting an eye-lid) into a grey totalitarian dystopia?

Seems a bit of a reach tbh.

How many of those oligarchs are now deemed by Putin as disloyal?
And does he want those riches redirected his way?

Do you think Putin's power is growing or on the decline?
I think it's about where it was pre-invasion. He's in control. Dissent is stamped out. State media toes the official line.

The millions of Russians who are not in favour of the war are muted.

The millions who avoid political debate in the workplace and in public continue in the same vein.

Its a big drone attack, alarms and Air Defence working in most Regions.
A lot coming from South of Odesa from The Black Sea.

Slava Ukraini.

The joy with Ukraine is that the Russians will not have total control of the air..
They've not really had control for quite a while now. Their planes rarely (even more rarely after last week) go anywhere near Ukraine airspace, and Ukraine air defences are able to shoot down most other threats. Meanwhile russia seem unable to shoot down Ukraine missiles, though still managing the drones OK.
