We need Russia more than they need China. And that thanks for the US keep threatening to cut off the shipping routes! The QUAD, AUKUS, Indo-pacific strategy, whatever ,they invented so many fancy words.

I will put this last question to you. Who are China's most important trading partners? The west (ie the EU, UK, USA, Australia, NZ Canada etc ) or Russia? Think carefully before you answer and I suggest you do some research.

The mind boggles if you think about the economies of these two giants. China collapsing into massive debt and Russia squandering its wealth on a war economy.
They are both liable to lash out at the devils they blame. Danger herein lies.

Russia doesn't have a massive economy, before they invaded Ukraine their GDP was about two thirds that of the UK. Which for a country with nearly two and half times the population isnt great.

Yes, but a giant politically and in terms of natural resources, but they have been lazy in exploiting them, preferring the easy market of EU energy demand.
