Capitulation has an orders of magnitude higher likelihood of a negative impact on lives and if beliefs about Putin's ultimate end goal are correct then the number of lives affected will be as high as if a full scale nuclear war broke out. All of what you say is true, but it does not negate the fact that Ukraine is defeated and that the war needs to stop and that conflict is not worth starting WW3 or a nuclear conflict over.
