Good points. So it's better to change the nature of the war than continuing fighting a format of war they have proved incapable of winning.

I wouldn’t say this changes any chances of success or failure. All these missiles will do is hit ammo dumps and hardware slowing the Russians down.

The Russians will just move there ammo and planes deeper into Russia. Which will then allow Ukraine get better view of when strikes are coming.

It’s all about attrition.

Ukrainians are fighting for their very existence. They might have to accept a peace deal that they don't want to.
But it is their lives, so it is their choice when to do this.
