Russian invasion of Ukraine

Biggest thing to me is he’s spent twenty years very successfully disrupting European politics and sowing divisions that he’s completely undone in the space of four days.
If it were not for the suffering of innocent Ukrainians then it would be a great thing. As you say, he has single handedly managed to force closer European ties and likely reinforce NATO than any other person in the last 30 years.

errr - if now is not the right time to facilitate Ukrainian refugee's when will be? My daughter went to Uni with a Polish lass - her family can take in a refugee and their dog no questions asked.....why at this moment of high alert do we require proof of salary or suggest they try to qualify as fruit pickers? Inhumane madness
Totally agree. We were in shit street economically in 1939 but it did not stop us taking thousands of refugees from Hitlers barbarism. This us Europe we are talking about they need our humanitarian help as well as our military help.

Not sure about that RT is fucking hilarious to watch. A bit like listening to Lord Haw Haw in WW2, it gives you EVERY confirmation as to why you are against Putin.
At least 10 RT employees have resigned from RT in the last week. It's still on Sky but not for much longer as The EU are banning it in all European countries

German attitudes were largely historic. The Allied powers restricted the size and scope of the German military after WW2. Germany in turn developed a strong pacifist sentiment - the scars of WW2 and it’s own horrors run deep.

Germany has always been conciliatory to Russia for the same reasons. It took Russian aggression to overturn decades of policy overnight. The French or the US lecturing them about defence or NATO spending was never going to prod them into action.

Putin did it 48 hours.
I understand their historical reluctance for militarization, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have to pay your way for the defence of your “largest economy in Europe,” even if it doesn’t mean spending that money on German troops in Germany.

It could spell the end of Trumpism in the US as well which would put the icing on the cake.

And you think UK companies ate not doing the same?

The brexit BS game is up mate, its increasingly being seen for what it is.
Don't mention the B word.

And certainly don't mention where the Leave campaign got its money from.

And don't mention the Russia report.

And don't even think about mentioning why it played into Russia's interests for Britain to withdraw from the EU.

Russia has a lot of Thermobaric weapons that we have not seen yet, I'd be very concerned if he starts using them

These are devastating and could probably level Kiev.

Russia and Belarus might be the two countries who carry the Rus name, but it’s Ukraine that is the historic homeland, and Kyiv which is the capital city, of the Rus people. I doubt even Putin wants to cause too much destruction to Ukraine or level Kyiv.

Maybe I’m wrong and in the next weeks, months, or years, Ukraine and Kyiv could be rubble since Putin is a monster. But for all other Rus people across the three Rus countries, they’d be devastated with the devastation of the Rus homeland.

RT still pushing the narrative that the country is led by neo-nazis and are offering surrender terms to the 'misled' Ukrainian soldiers. Do they really think anyone believes this shit?

I’ve only made one joke about the French which says something ;-)
