I know very little about the operations of Ukraines special forces in Russia. But this was clearly another well planned and targeted attack. Bringing the war home to the specific Russians responsible for unleashing this war on Ukraine.

It's not as though Russia doesn't try to assassinate people though so "Quid Pro Quo" in my book.
They tried to get Zelensky and members of the ukrainian high command in the opening days of the war and have continued to try. They have only managed to kill a few lower level folks in the Ukrainian command structure since though.
Calling down missile strikes on specific buildings highlighted by agents being their favourite trick.
