The thing with this is I don't understand how Russia sees Europe as a military threat. We have indeed seen expansion of NATO to the east but that is because of Russia and otherwise NATO is not a threat to Russia. This fact has been demonstrated more than clearly over the last 10 years. No NATO action has led to the offensive invasion of another country whereas Russia has occupied and invaded several.

I don't know if Putins obsession with NATO is delusion but it's probably more due to his frame of geopolitics and certainly it must represent an ambition of Putin to reform the USSR or to re-establish empires and that kind of thing. He cannot achieve these goals if countries like Ukraine join NATO because what he's doing over there becomes militarily impossible.

The really sad thing is Russia is a relatively modern country and Russians are quite westernised so do they want war with the west? Do they hell. What's happening and why Russia is doing what it's doing is entirely a fabrication of one man and his pals.

The thing I worry about is what do these people really think is happening in the world and could it be true that they even believe their own propaganda? If so then anything could happen and this really does echo how Hitler took Nazi Germany to war.

The threat from NATO to Russia is that it prevents Russia picking off nations one at a time.

China is denouncing a report that it asked Russia to delay invading Ukraine until after the Beijing Winter Olympics as “fake news."

I just feel NATO left the door wide open for the Russians to invade.

I know it's extremely difficult and we're a debating forum where Voltairian principles should apply etc. But with the vast majority of the World and various bodies such as FIFA, IOC, UEFA, FIA etc. now showing zero tolerance of RUSSIA'S actions and delegates refusing to listen to the lies and revisionism of Russian politicos - I wonder are BM considering silencing more of the trolling and misplaced finger pointing on here?

Except for Gazprom, all Russian stocks quoted on western markets are now valueless. If the Russian stock market opens everything goes bust.

Yes seen that and never thought it would happen again in Europe....is the UK putting on planes and transport to take people to UK as refugees? Boris talked about 200,000 but how can these people make it to UK with nothing? Would like to see UK and other western countries actually be more proactive and take strain off Poland and other countries on border.

Yes it was pitiful to see their meagre possessions and these were not impoverished and were obviously educated people but had left everything behind. I hope that we and other countries sort them out as we did after WW2.

Russia certainly have buckets full of audacity!

One of the OSCE members in Ukraine was killed on Tuesday in the Russian shelling in Kharkiv, today the cheeky twunts have complained to the OSCE about Ukrainian forces target civilians during its special operation.

That is just nonsense. The Tories, as Labour themselves have repeatedly pointed out, can return Russian linked money without any problem. It’s pennies in the overall scheme of things and it’s weird they have been seemingly reluctant to. Personally, whilst there is no evidence to suggest this is from people linked to Putin, it smells a bit and I think they should donate it to Ukraine for humanitarian causes.

I also think the Labour Party should take their Chinese donated money and contribute that given their stance on Russias invasion.

But it isn't nonsense, is it. Come on. The fact that you're bringing up labour shows exactly why you're denying this. And I'm not defending labour here btw. They're all crooks.
