No idea what was said but the army chief certainly said the Uk should look at training the public. He said it back in January.

But he wasn’t talking conscription, he was talking about training a volunteer force.

It was the CGS letting people know that we all have to pull together because the Army wasn’t big enough to cover everything going on.

It was a version of that comment, from a former army chief, training the public is one thing, there won't be any conscription.

They have zero chance of training or conscripting this generation into anything. It's not 1939 anymore and nobody is rushing to die for King or country anywhere and who could blame them?

I work with the military, there are plenty of young people who actually want to be professional military people (they'd like better reward for doing so), but I can tell you, they wouldn't accept people who have no desire to be there, all ranks from bottom up.

I think the nature of modern warfare, especially for a country with sophisticated weaponry, is that conscripts in that scenario would provide as much of a hindrance as a help.

A drone operator is more value than somebody who can do hand to hand combat these days.
PS5/COD type game users may actually gaining some future military use/experience.

The downside is Russians PS5 users play GTA, so they end up killing/raping women/children and steal washing machines...

I was driving out of Santa Monica with my lad at the start of our Route 66 trip in 2016, he was 17 at the time, and as we were driving along the road he said he recognised it from GTA!
