This is like trying to push water up a hill.

The Russian economy was grinding along even before the fuel started running out. Now anything that involves transportation is going to have to cost more or its just not going to get to the shops. Empty shelves ahead.

Having looked at this area on google earth, the river is fairly minor, so I'm not convinced they'll need many pontoons.

On pontoons they must be at huge risk from drones, so I'm sure Ukraine will be well prepared, to get 90,000 troops and 100's of tanks across them will be quite an achievment.

The advance does seem real on the various maps available, but I wonder if this is somewhat exaggerated ?

The US was and still is, sending Ukraine old tech and it is absolutely mullering everything the ruSSians have, but sadly Ukraine just doesn’t have enough of it. Bradley IFV’s tearing the ruSSian T90 tank apart and F16’s with the help of an AIRWAX shooting down a supposedly far superior SU aircraft are examples
Why would the Pentagon continue to invest in more R & D and even higher tech at billions of dollars, when what they have is already proven to be far more than adequate

The two things that are missing are
1/ A cheap way of shooting down drones
The Germans have the Gepard anti aircraft system and also the Skynex system. But the Americans only seem to have million dollar missiles

2/ A cheap way to counter sea drones

Because they will have to fight the Chinese at some point and the Chinese don't have Fisher Price weapons.
