RVP Agrees MCFC Move

I really don't understand the Dzeko hate on Bluemoon. No different to the Ade hate though. You would have thought a couple of people would have learned to be a bit more humble after they've been shown up by it.
I don't "hate" Dzeko. I've said before he's clearly shown himself to be a good player, particularly at Wolfsburg and very occasionally with us. But he really doesn't seem to fit our style now and there's no obvious partner for him up front. You can't play him as a lone striker but he doesn't play a target man role, with Aguero playing off him, either.

But if you had to choose between the Dzeko of this season and the van Persie of this season, which would you choose?

I can't believe what I'm reading on here. People turning their noses up at RVP? Madness. He's one of the few Premier League players who'd walk into the Barcelona/Real Madrid starting line ups. The best out and out striker in world football today. Plenty of Champions League/Premier League experience, fantastic goal scorer, a wand of a left peg, and seemingly ready, willing and (due to his contract situation) able to join us this summer. You should all be doing cartwheels at the prospect. I bet Mancini is...

I'd rather we get a couple of pacy wingers which will add another dimension to our game as well as bolstering Dzeko's ability to make an impact and then stick Guidetti, who's proving himself in the Netherlands, on the bench.

Van Persie, but the situation above is preferable and Dzeko is a lot younger too. That said, look at the stats. In goals and assists per minute mean Dzeko has been effective for us: http://www.imscouting.com/reports-gener ... &p4=10#rep Of course you can never rely on stats alone but it's a lot better to rely on stats alone than opinion alone, and opinion is all a lot of Bluemooners go on.

It would also not fit the recent transfer policy. RVP is an ageing injury-prone but world class striker.

Better to sign players like Aguero, Nasri, Silva....all expensive but between the age of 20-25. Look how Chelsea have fucked up by signing the likes of Torres, Shevchenko....

So far City haven't done that. Which is good.

Especially one aged jock who is one injury from being a crock.
Retaining Ade would be more preferable given Ade as a former gunner outperform RVP when both were playing together.

Plenty of money to be made if folk think he's coming to us..

I wouldnt take 100/1 theres no fucking chance..
11/10 on Sky Bet. Those are shit odds. There's no money to be made. Would rather invest in a Ponzi scheme.

But apparently the deal is done according to some folk so isnt that like buying money?

To be honest he was a lot bigger than that the other day before the rumour mill kicked in,people throwing money away.
Not really as even a done deal can go tits up.

I got on nasri at 11/1 and made £330 when most on here said it was bollocks.

If the odds were better I'd be all over RvP

-- Sun Mar 11, 2012 10:59 am --

Shown up by what?

His goals and assists record this season. If people wanted him gone because they backed Mancini getting rid of troublemakers, fair enough, and I supported Mancini on that basis - though I think Mancini treated him very shabbily. If they wanted rid because they thought he was shite as many did, he's surely proved them wrong by being second only to Van Persie (joint with Aguero) for goals and assists in the Premier League.

Maybe we are happy to let this interest be known to smoke out others...

He does not fit in with the vision the owners have for the club.

The only way this happens, is a whim, a vanity purchase, and we haven't done them as yet.

Mancini is a straight-shooter and when asked a question, he simply replies his admiration, as he has done with so many.

Mancini's job is far from safe at this present time, so suggestions of a deal being agreed with RVP, without any idea who the manager will be, again, this story is a reach.

Sure, the figures look sexy, they even make sense, but they are simply a rehash of the original story, supposedly given a nose of legitimacy with the Abu Dhabi links.

Van Persie is hardly going to ridicule or dismiss a link to us, with contract negotiations to conclude with Arsenal or another club.

City will focus on selling Tevez and Adebayor before they start to commit huge promises to other players.

Ronaldo is the only player I have EVER been made aware of where City would break the bank for a player of a certain age.

Mancini was willing to splurge the club's cash on De Rossi, but our owners are not as wet behind the ears as they first were.

That has guaranteed another 100 pages at least, never mind the RVP rumour lol

I don't think too many (any?) thought Ade was shite but he deserved to be fucked off for trying to take on Mancini in front of the squad expecting Mancini to be out in the summer.

-- Sun Mar 11, 2012 11:34 am --

Does the comment put Tolm firmly in the Cabal camp?

Or is he just a very naughty boy?

;-)

I fail to see what TH has to gain by making something like that up, as appears to be being implied?

Agreed mate but some on here have developed an almost RAWK like approach to any discussion that revolves around Bob.

Anyway, RVP, yes please.

RVP buys cheshire home

A couple of days ago one of MCFCForum’s admin team let slip that a reliable source of theirs had confirmed to him that Robin Van Persie had purchased a house opposite to Peter Crouch in the rural retreat of Cheshire. Due to the nature of what we do we hear a lot of rumours, most of which we keep quite about as it is only that. This came from a source who has been very reliable in the past and our forum members have been ahead of the game on a few scoops.

Cheshire is well placed for footballers looking to play their game outside of the capital and within easy reach of both Manchester clubs which you would think that if Robin Van Persie was looking to make a move away from Arsene Wengers strict wage structure it could be a destination of choice. No Dis-respect to Stoke but I cannot see Van Persie swapping the Red and White of Arsenal for the red and white of Stoke City to tie up with his new neighbour.

We have now seen Duncan Castle’s interesting piece in the UAE National detailing that sources close to both the club and the player believe a deal has already been struck with Manchester City for his services. City have found Arsenal to be a club where talented players can be persuaded to make the move up north and if Robin Van Persie does indeed choose to make the switch it will be the fifth player to do so in three years.

Robin Van Persie has let it be known that he is not looking to sit down with Arsenal to discuss an extension to his contract until the summer, at which point he will be in his last year of the contract. Arsenal have relied heavily on him for goals, 25 goals in 27 premier league appearances is an excellent return in anybody’s book and you have to wonder where Arsenal would be without Robin Van Persie this season.

Arsene Wenger is lining up a deal for another stirker, Luke Podolski, and he is adamant that Arsenal will do everything they can to keep hold of Robin Van Persie. He said the same about Fabregas and Nasri, both of which left with Manchester City bringing Nasri to the Etihad Stadium and Fabregas returning to Barcelona.

If Arsenal win tomorrow night they will be one spot behind Tottenham for their push for third place. If they could secure guaranteed Champions League football and look to bring in a number of fresh faces in the summer to better blend youth with experience they may feel they have a chance at holding onto their deadly finisher but the if Duncan’s article is to be believed along with the purchase of a new home in Cheshire the decision may already be to late.
