Many players down in the lower leagues can't even afford to pay for petrol to get to games..... Which is why Salary capping and abolishment of transfer fee's should be introduced.
How will one equate to the other? How will a salary cap in the Prem means Bob Smith at Dag & Red gets more money?

It would never happen, the FA is only interested in pleasing the men with serious money.

But how would it happen?

*Players in the top division would earn a set amount per week, making the club more able to manage their finances.
*Clubs also wouldn't have Transfer Fee's.
*The amount of money coming in from Tv Deals wouldn't be needed as much so although the clubs would still recieve payments.
*The EPL/Tv would agree to set amounts going to the lower leagues.
*This would also include rights for broadcasting of lower league games.
*This money would enable lower league clubs to pay players wages.
*The salary cap would be different for each league.
* a bonus system would be inplace which enables players to be rewarded for scoring goals and appearances. so the likes of left-back Wayne Bridge wouldn't earn the same as left-back Gael Clichy.

The downside of this is without Transfer Fee's smaller clubs wouldn't make big cash from selling academy prospects/decent players... But with better players clubs could compete and gain promotion, earning more money from the Tv/EPL deal.

This would dicourage many foreign players from playing here, unless the salary cap was higher than their national league, so it would really have to be a global thing, scrapping Transfer Fee's and Crazy Wages... endorsed by UEFA/FIFA
Smaller clubs would be less reluctant to throw away youth prospects and attempt to develop them, making for a better national infrastructure.

I'm also certain that most of the EPL would be encouraged from signing foreigners and look at their own national league as in the past English players have commanded higher Fee's than foreign players.
This enables english players to compete more in a top league, gaining more experience and betters our national team.

I'm certain The EPL as a entertainment product would be shit, as right now the big stars want to be here to earn the most money, The likes of Silva would be straight back to Spain as he could earn the same wage back home as he would here. But i'm also certain that given time the EPL would create new stars, more probable players developed in this country and able to flourish in a top league.

So many youth prospects are thrown in the bin by every club every year because of money and the fact there isn't space for them.

So many average foreign players ply their trade in this country, this space would enable players developed here to be given more opportunity.

Re: Am I the only one who is...

i pay my £30+ to watch city play, if city want to contribute to paying the other £249.970 to vanpersie so he can play and i can watch world class football with the best players in the world playing at the best club in the world then im happy.

i think you should be to..

alternativly we can get corradi back or maybe samaras?

Re: Am I the only one who is...

I'm with Stevie B here.

I used to drive past the only dedicated school in the area for kids with mental disabilities and it had to shut down due to lack of support and fundung.

Now it is full of empty new houses that no fucker can afford.

So yes on the balance of things i would defo salary cap they.

It will not happen but i have that ideal. I love footy but i love seeing little kids have a decent standard of living more along with many many other things.

Re: Am I the only one who is...

The real outrage in all this, is the money taken out of football by agents.

Kia Joorabchian for instance...

Re: Am I the only one who is...

Hi - can't say I'm happy that we pay players such ludicris wages but it is the way of the world.

There are lots of people earning a lot more than they should.

Re: Am I the only one who is...

I heard somewhere the actual players earn only a small percentage of all the money that is in football itself. Dont know if this is true or not?

Do we ge Jessica Ennis as well.

Honestly, I don't want him. He is 29 years of age and from now on is only going down. Serg and Mario are good enough and signing would mean that either/both Dzeko and Guidetti leave. I would strongly advise any move for him. Let him go to Madrid and we'll keep Aguero.
