Ryan Bertrand

How much is he reportedly going to cost? £20-30m I would assume...?

Whilst I cannot refute that we need at least three new full-backs, it strikes me as a trifle strange that we are seemingly going to spend over £100m on three players who are not renowned for their versatility. It's a great shame that the proposed Fabinho deal now appears to be off as he would have been perfect for a Pep team/squad.

Was great yesterday for England and it's so obvious why Pep wants him. Personally I'd absolutely love him at City. Hopefully we get him and Mendy in in the next few weeks.

Both the full backs did well for England yesterday and they would both be welcome at City; especially if we get Mendy as well and, perhaps, another quality RB.

I think that's a bit over the top considering the opposition but from what I've seen of them both, I think Bertrand is a better option than Mendy. Maybe it's just because I haven't seen as much of Mendy but Bertrand just looks a lot more composed in possession, he looks like he thinks about what he's doing rather than playing on instinct.

The one I wanted originally was Grimaldo but hearing Pep's interview recently (can't remember which one) I think he's going for a slightly more physical player even if he's having to compromise on technical ability due to the nature of English football and the long ball merchants.

Thought Walker struggled a fair bit, but Bertrand was excellent and at £20m would be a superb addition.

Cople of iffy, rusty moments early on but then I don't recall much getting past him. TBF, I wasn't watching intently for much of time but among the dross that was in strong evidence, those two were two of the better players for me. Regardless of one game, I'd say Walker is the best RB in the EPL at this time so I am happy for City to try and buy him. If we cannot do a deal, I am sure there are options overseas but I agree with the perception that Pep wants strong quick full backs who can run all day for the Premier League, hence the interest in Walker.

Walker's value going forward was obvious yesterday. I was less convinced by his defending however. Still hoping we'll sign him, but everything depends on Levy, whom I have no doubt will demand an absurd sum

I'm quite relaxed by the Walker deal, Kristof Terruer told Billy on here that it's a well known secret that Walker will go to City. Coupled with Jons info I'm relaxed.

I'm relaxed about the fact that we want Walker and he wants us. It's just a question of whether the deal gets scuppered by a ridiculous asking fee from Levy or not.
