Walker's value going forward was obvious yesterday. I was less convinced by his defending however.

Maybe I'm imagining this, but does anyone think this is something of a cliche about full backs nowadays? Every full back I hear about comes with the review that they're great going forwards but a bit suspect defensively.

Why? He's a super fullback who's been consistently brilliant for two years now. He's a massive upgrade on what we had, and he'd walk into any team in England at LB (other than Spurs)

He won't have to do loads of defending.

Hope Walker himself can soften Levy's negotiating stance by making it very clear he will be very unhappy bunny if forced to stay.

Has been excellent in the game so far. He was also England's best player in the match against Scotland. Very underrated player in my opinion. I'd be very happy if we signed him. Just very strong all round, with no discernible weaknesses.

If Txiki got both him and Walker for £60m I think he will have done well.

Add in Mendy for £40m and I think that isn't too bad for 3 good fullbacks. Expensive but not too bad considering the current market.

How can anyone describe any of England's defenders as great last night? It was a collective shambles with the full backs terrified by the pace of the French forwards.
