in the fact he wasnt born in salford...he moved there with his family

Fair enough, grew up there then.

Ryan Joseph Wilson was born at St David's Hospital in Canton, Cardiff, Wales, to Danny Wilson, a rugby union player for Cardiff RFC, and Lynne Giggs (now Lynne Johnson). As a child, Giggs grew up in Ely, a suburb of western Cardiff, but spent much time with his mother's parents and playing football on the roads outside their house in Pentrebane. In 1980, when Giggs was six years old, his father switched rugby codes and signed for Swinton RLFC, forcing the whole family to move north to the Swinton area of Salford

there are no non league sides in salford then?
Or basically did you decided to support a big club from another town seems like a familar tale lots of rags from Kent use the same argument so I may be a clown as you say but I am not a glory Hunter / plastic

1. I left Salford when I was 3.
2. I started watching City in 1966
3. As I already said, supporting City runs in the family.

I take it you always had a season ticket for Wythenshawe Amateurs then?

if they were the only club in the city of my birth then I would have. however I had the choice to support another team from my home city but I could have gone down your route and supported spurs or inter.
why didn't you support Salford city fc or was you born pre 1940 because you had the same choice as I did but you appear to have gone down the kent rags route.

it has just dawned on me where I have heard this argument before you are in fact using the Jack Charlton defence in number 3
in response to your points

no.1 so what you are still not from manchester
no 2 you are a long standing glory hunter then
no.3 the jack charlton defence

Simple really!!! They are on the wrong side of the river Irwell and Chester Road to be in Manchester :)
The wrong side of the Ship canal to be in Salford :)
but the right side of the River Mersey to be in Old Trafford, Lancashire :( should really of got the freedom of Trafford Park massive industrial estate with it's swamp like appearance and mile after mile of container units. :)

Yes Salford do have a football team, semi-professional side Salford City FC who play in the Nothern Premier League 1st Division.

How does supporting a professional side make you a glory hunter? Or should we all be supporting Curzon Ashton, Ashton United etc.

You're going to alienate a lot of blues in this site if you think you're better than them just because you were born in Manc.

The Salford folk will kick your head in on these boards for saying that. Trafford is the thing. Stretford. Change it before they find out it ha gone uncorrected.

TBH trafford / salford makes no difference all the same to me I'm a Mancunian

Exactly fucking right mate - you are totally spot on!! I'm from Trafford, my bird is from Salford, me Mams from Moss Side and we all have the same accent and are all the same sorta people! I think all this United being in Trafford and therefore not Mancunian is pretty fuckin sad and pathetic to be honest, especially considering there are as many City seasoncard holders from Trafford as there are from Manchester and neither has as many as Stockport - which is why they take the piss out of us! so I think people need to get a new jibe, this one has never been funny and is actually gettin boring!!

You are correct but whp.blue thinks anyone from outside the City of Manchester has no right to support City.
