why would I know that I'm a Mancunian Thats why I support my home town club how about you?

I was born in Salford who don't have a senior football team and my grandad and mum supported City, is that ok with your introverted obsession?

The Salford folk will kick your head in on these boards for saying that. Trafford is the thing. Stretford. Change it before they find out it ha gone uncorrected.

I've never understood this. The swamp is in the middle of Salford Quays. (Sadly, not literally).

How can it not be in Salford? Or are Salford Quays not in Salford either?

Chris in London, Old Trafford is in Trafford, on the other side of the canal from Salford Quays, which is in Salford.

As for the OP "Trafford, Salford, it's all the same to me" it isn't the same to us, and you sound like a bit of a dick tbh.

See what I mean, OP?. Salford people go into a head melt every time their town is slandered in this way. And I don't much blame them.

I know quite a few lads from Salford (Lower Broughton area and a few from Eccles) most of them are blues, 2 of them are Rags to be fair to one of em he goes to every Rags game, but there's about 7 blues and 5 go to the games! they all HATE this Salford is Red thing!

there are no non league sides in salford then?
Or basically did you decided to support a big club from another town seems like a familar tale lots of rags from Kent use the same argument so I may be a clown as you say but I am not a glory Hunter / plastic

Why do people not know whether it's in Salford or not? It is or it isn't, shirley.

SALFORD

at last salford lay claim to their own club by awarding ryan giggs the freedom of the city

WRONG
Ryan Joseph Wilson was born at St David's Hospital in Canton, Cardiff, Wales, to Danny Wilson, a rugby union player for Cardiff RFC, and Lynne Giggs (now Lynne Johnson). As a child, Giggs grew up in Ely, a suburb of western Cardiff, but spent much time with his mother's parents and playing football on the roads outside their house in Pentrebane. In 1980, when Giggs was six years old, his father switched rugby codes and signed for Swinton RLFC, forcing the whole family to move north to the Swinton area of Salford

1. I left Salford when I was 3.
2. I started watching City in 1966
3. As I already said, supporting City runs in the family.

I take it you always had a season ticket for Wythenshawe Amateurs then?

Salford Quays is within the boundary of Salford in the area of Ordsall which is divided from Stretford by the Manchester Ship Canal. So the rags have nothing to do with Salford, the Swamp is in Stretford which is part of Trafford.

Giggs was born in Wales but was raised and lived in Swinton until he moved to Worsley - both Swinton and Worsley being in the City of Salford.
