Sad to see

To be fair Hartlepool isn't a bad little place and I've enjoyed my visits there in the past. I find it hard to understand how people to get the two places mixed up because 'Boro is a bit of a dump. I know a few of their fans who now live down here, my best mates dad being a prime example and he loves the club but can't go watching them at home all the time so just tends to go to local away games.

What's Sunderland got to do with all this?

Am I going a bit mental?

Yes but they were all from Middlesborough ... originally.... I bet.

My missus is from Hartlepool (the monkey hanging fucker) and I can tell you she would be very upset at the insinuation that Middlesboro and Hartlepool are one and the same. She will have nothing to do with the "Smog Monsters" whatsoever.

For this she cannot be blamed.

Sorry, i've just read the whole thread. Didn't mean to pick on you again Pamster x

It is a drab place Boro, thank god i only stopped there 5 mins on the coach through to Sunderland during my time up there.

Went to the England vs Slovakia (?) game a few years ago there. Was decent in a full stadium but the pubs (the two we could find in any kind of distance) were shite. Got a Boro mate who left there to come town as she hates her own town that much :-( ..and Parmo is no excuse to big up the Boro!

It is twatsville, monkey hanging or no. This much is clear.

Serves Steve Gibson right.

When he could see that the club were in decline, he failed to change the manager even when it was clear Southgate was out of his depth. Then they got relegated and he still didn't sack him. But when they were looking good for a possible return to the Premiership, he decided to sack him because crowds were going down. Like us, he had someone lined up but unlike us, the replacement was worse so crowds went down even further.

He's the world's greatest chairman according to most!

Never really cared either way about Boro, until their fucking shameful behaviour at Maine Road a few years back (long story). Plus of course, they once had a certain Bryan Robson in charge so I've changed from indifference to downright bloody hatred.

It won't be long before Strachan takes them down, but Gibson'll stick with the ex-rag and the media will be creaming themselves (once again) about what a great chairman he is.

Give me a good reason as to why i should feel sorry for them?

No, i didnt think so.
