This thread sent me off on a loooong rabbit hole and i have realised i have a guilty pleasure in sad, soppy and often cheesy songs.

Also, many sad songs are really uplifting.

Dunno if this is sad...certainly melancholy...(this is the shorter version rather than the full length version from War of the Worlds)

Just seen this.
In my will, I’ve requested this song to be played at my funeral, not planning on departing any time soon, but think I’ll just get myself and Mrs Pince, another couple of drinks.

REM Everybody Hurts came on my spotify yesterday and it always chokes me a tad.
Everybody does indeed hurt ... sometimes
