Safe Standing Bill In Parliament

Blue tooth's post shows just how unreasonably stubborn, blinkered and out of touch FIFA, Blatter and our own FA are compared to the progressive, enlightened and 'can do' attitude prevalent in Germany.
It seems over there, they respect supporters rather than patronising them or making them play second fiddle to greed and football politics.
I honestly can't see how any football fan could honestly object. They're not making standing compulsory, just offering an option.
Bring back the Kippax.
It's called democracy, bit too scary for our island mentality,we seem to prefer autocracy, much safer.

I don't know how anyone could think that this is unsafe. Two people in the space of one seat isn't going to cause a crush.

No chance. Only serves a populist agenda rather than an economic output as serviced by the original report whereby that tory MP that owned a plastic seat manufacturing company benefited enormously.

You and me don't matter.

I completely disagree with it.

Don't worry it won't be compulsory (and it won't happen either - though I hope it does).

I've only had 1 reply to this so said user can ignore this...

but why does it come down to sit or stand? what about the number of fans who sit down for periods of games and then join in with the sing song for a bit?

And he's a Lib Dem, so I hate him anyway for yesterday.

ive been though all pages of this topic and i find it really strange how you try and defeat the whole idea of safe standing when it really will not affect you in the slightest if you choose not too?

They will, it'll be in the rest of the stadium (as now in fact). Even in the safe standing area you will be able to sit if your legs can't keep you up (as now in fact).

The idea is an "option", not compulsory, and your thoughts on the money side are frankly ridiculous, because they're not going to half the price, and yet they will get twice as many in, so revenue wise, it goes up not down.

Sadly PC Britain won't allow it anyway, commons debate or otherwise, so you'll be happy anyway, even though you completely fail to understand the concept.

Standing (safe or otherwise) does not equal hooliganism, it never did.
