ive been though all pages of this topic and i find it really strange how you try and defeat the whole idea of safe standing when it really will not affect you in the slightest if you choose not too?

because I want all forms of supporter to feel comfortable in going to a match.

fans all may want something different from sitting to standing to singing and not singing!

is that not the point?

I've only had 1 reply to this so said user can ignore this...

but why does it come down to sit or stand? what about the number of fans who sit down for periods of games and then join in with the sing song for a bit?

They will, it'll be in the rest of the stadium (as now in fact). Even in the safe standing area you will be able to sit if your legs can't keep you up (as now in fact).

The idea is an "option", not compulsory, and your thoughts on the money side are frankly ridiculous, because they're not going to half the price, and yet they will get twice as many in, so revenue wise, it goes up not down.

Sadly PC Britain won't allow it anyway, commons debate or otherwise, so you'll be happy anyway, even though you completely fail to understand the concept.

Standing (safe or otherwise) does not equal hooliganism, it never did.

a) I know it's an option.
b) if you think health and safety will allow anymore than 1 person to an equivalent seat then I'm sorry but getting double the people will not be allowed, it will be strictly regulated.
c) how many people will pay £30 for standing? with Germany going for 10 to euros and still sometimes complaining, I don't see how at that price it will be that popular, maybe I'm wrong.

-- Sat Dec 11, 2010 1:28 am --

a. I know, so why all moaning about it ?
b. well as I've already stated it won't happen anyway, but if it did then it would have to be looked at.
c. a lot more than you imagine.

a) because I have my doubts about it, and wouldn't this thread be boring if we all agreed?
b) ok
c) ok, we might see.
d) :).

all the bundesliga stadia have got safe standing areas and it's fantastic. just like the old days on the kippax, but better. better atmosphere, loads of singing and cheaper tickets.

what's the problem?

i would much rather stand and be able to move around in these temperatures than sit on some cheap plastic seat.

111 is essentially standing anyway. Nowadays with electronic tickets theres no reason it cant work.

Exactly.as are ALL city away matches-we pay £40/£50 for a fooking seat and then stand throughout, its a joke.

Bring back standing ASAP- we may an see increase in younger blues taking an interest in city, and lets face it, there are a distinct lack of them due i feel to crap atmosphere and high prices-get the terraces back, charge £10-£15 and watch the atmosphere in grounds take off again. its a no brainer.
For those who "never want to stand at football again" what do you fooking do at away matches??? surely you wouldn,t deny a fan the right to choose? this is not Hitlers Germany...its England..anyone who hasn,t noticed the decrease in attendances at matches all over the country together with the reality that such decreases are not gonna stop anytiome soon given the years of austerity we will face for the next decade had better get real-Bringing back safe standing now isn the way to save football as a spectator sport.

I,ll be standing all match at UP tomaz-as will the whole away end-why should we pay £36 to do it??

Block 118 is standing now and i have seen kids as young as 10 -15 standing with no danger of getting hurt. The seats provide the spacing that was not there when we did have the problems. But I do remember being in the Kippax when I was 12 and being carried along with the crowd when we scored and I absolutley loved it.

If I could have one thing happen in my lifetime, other than success for City, it would be that the idiots who run this country allow standing at football again.

The best games of the season are either away games or the 'big' games of the season where noone sits down during the match....I'm not a golden oldie and wasn't lucky enough to experience the Kippax like my father but there i a direct link between standing and atmosphere as it allows you to express yourself.

It happens in several countries (i.e. Germany) with NO downside.

+Increases atmosphere
+Possible (slight) reduction in ticket prices
+Increase in attendances
+It's safe!!! (This is safe standing don't forget, not a return to the 70's).

It's a win win win situation, I just hope and pray that it happens soon.

get it back ASAP
Fook the moaners if they had their way singing and havin a laugh would also be banned, the squareheads hav got it right the atmosphere in the big german grounds pisses all over ours, if we could get a 4 or 5000 block allocated for standing it would be the dogs balls.
The lads in the ss and east stand paddock provide the noise for basically every single game at our place so wouldnt it be great to get 5k singing TOGETHER....FOR THE SKY BLUES.
(the rest could carry on with polite applause when we score or maybe on odd line of bluemoon everynow and again woopeedoo)
