Well people said it wasn't possible to expand our stadium because of the way it was built and the roof design but they managed it. I do not see how anything needs to be demolished in order to remove seats and add rail seating.

Hard not to. Imagine how it would improve the atmosphere.

You think that we have standing in the family stand ? I don't think so. I may be dreaming about the East Stand but would have thought level one south stand would be where it would be.

would be great to all city fans standing right around the lower levels but I don't think it will happen but maybe fan power could push the FA to bring in small pockets of fans in a stand first and see what its like

but I fear the numpties will be back and they are still very much part of football outside of the grounds before and after games so maybe pushing them back into ground will put most of the clubs of doing it

i don't have the same romanticism regarding the Kippax, never did
the best year was 72/73 ish when the scoreboard end had a roof and became the north stand at Maine Road we had standing the season before they put the seats in
it was immense and the noise fantastic, much better than the Kippax

I don't remember that. My first matches were on the Kippax with my dad and uncle. I was born on Ridgeway street in 1970, just off Kippax street.
I was first allowed to go on my own as a young teenager and stood on the Kippax. Then for several years me and my dad had a ST together in the seated North stand.

If I remember correctly I think they were padded too, haha.

it would be just before your time
i used to stand on the open scoreboard end, and we moved down to platt lane when they started with the roof and it became the North Stand
the 'Kippax' moved into the North Stand for the season

It was 71/72 just for one season before the seats went in,I stood behind the goal all season and like you said the atmosphere was fantastic.We should of won the league that season,we signed Rodney towards the end and quite a few people say that was the reason we didn't,I still can't make my mind up on that one.
