Saido Berahino

We don't need any more english players. We can't even fit anymore in the CL squad. We have 4 association trained players and 0 club trained players. Buying him for being HG doesn't make sense.

Benzema!? Why would we spend £40m when we are looking for a third choice striker?

Just because we have enough English players doesn't mean we won't buy more, it is a minimum not a maximum requirement, nothing to stop us if we wanted to do it, but I agree it woudl be preferable to fill a 3rd/4th choice striker with a club grown player. Personally I don't think should be looking for a 3rd choice striker though, I feel quite nervous that we only have Aguero and Bony as recognised, experienced, strikers, Kelechi looks fantastic but I have no idea where if fits into our plans for this season. One injury and we'd cope, two and we're buggered. If Benzema is available then I'd love him to come here, he may expect to start most games but that is fine with me, he is clearly a top striker and reverting to 4-4-2 would not be such an issue, it did win us the league a couple of seasons back after all. Plus, stops our rivals significantly strengthening, if the rumours of Arsenal being interested are true.

Yes, and no.

We have 4 homegrown players in our squad for the Champions League, Hart, Delph, Clichy and Sterling. If we added Berahino then he'd be a 5th homegrown player, however In the Champion's League he wouldn't be able to be registered as a homegrown player. The Champion's League squad rules state a 25 man squad, made up of 17 open slots, for any player, plus 8 homegrown slots, which are divided into 4 homegrown and 4 club trained. If our 4 homegrown players are Hart, Clichy, Delph and Sterling then Berahino only gets into the squad in one of the 17 "open slots", slots which we've already got earmarked for our non-homegrown players.

What we need to do, and this is clearly what the club is building towards, is to develop our own club trained players, so they can fill the 4 Champion's League slots set aside for them. Presently we have no-one who can fill those slots (all our club trained players are young enough to avoid being registered on the Champion's League "A List").

Ignoring all of the above , Saido Berahino isn't really good enough for City anyway, he's a slightly better Scott Sinclair.

Different type of player if you ask me, Iheanacho is a more authodox forward player, whereas Berahino is a hybrid between a striker and a winger. I think Iheanacho has the potential to be a far better player than Berahino, but he needs to develop further.

Hope to god Iheanacho gets game time v West Brom, think he could make a massive impact.

Kelechi is already better, Don't need Berahino.
It's lucky we don't have B teams in England because the EDS would beat us to the title every year. Iheanacho is our 2nd best striker, Denayer our best defender, Barker better than Navas, Angelino better than Kolarov, Zuculini should replace Fernando, Garcia / Lopes is better than Nasri.

Berahino scored 14 goals in the PL last year yet no doubt wouldn't even make the first XI in the EDS.

The rumours for this one concern me a bit.
The rumours started at the same time as Benzema to Arsenal and with Aguero being mentioned as one of the three replacements at Real (again).

no way would we replace Aguero with Berahino. And besides no way sergio is going.
