Saido Berahino

Of course, but Berahino doesn't fall into that category
But that is in the future?

Berahino could move and be an immense success / move and be a disaster.

No one knows.

My only point was he's the profile of player we'd look at, yet many on here can't countenance the idea of buying a player from WBA.

Fwiw imo he'd be a gamble, but he's a clinical finisher, direct and versatile and there's much worse buys we could make. Not convinced Bony suits us any more than he does. The question is what to do with Nacho? I certainly don't think we'd be worse for having Saido.

If for some reason we can't get DeBruyne, they may see Berahino as a player to strengthen the attacking options, allowing someone else to play in DeBruyne's position. It wouldn't be an actual like for like replacement.
If that's the case I'd be deeply concerned about the management of the club, as it smacks of not having any sort of concrete plan in place for the squad. I don't believe Txiki is *that* bad to be scratching around signing random players to fill the squad on the eve of the new season.

Iheanacho is already our 2nd best striker. He'll be top class. Berahino would be a waste of money and a flop.

No he would simply be replacing a forward with a forward, who would be eligible for a homegrown spot in the Champions League, which Iheanacho isn't.

We want to take the club to the next level with top quality signings like Delph, Berahino and Roberts .....we want to send a message to the Barcelona's of this world that we now mean business
