Saints (A) Post Match Thread

No Pal just a different opinion to you. If you dont think that was a tight game then I'm fine with your opinion.
It was a tight game but we scored one excellent goal, their keeper did a very good save from Gundo and we had at least two more clear cut chances that we messed up. Can’t think of any Southampton chances when they really should have scored. On that basis we thoroughly deserved the win.

Southampton didnt have a clear chance the whole game, we had 4 or 5. Can't understand how you can say it was close, first half yeah that argument could be made but second half was all City.

How is it weird ?

do you think we played well ?

It was a very mature and intelligent performance.

The only real improvement would have been to have been sharper in the final third.

Even the BBC on Final Score are going on about how well we played with it only being our finishing stopping it from being a big score.

Defensively and as a team we defended superbly and battled fantastical until the very end to see out the result.

I dont think we do.

We will buy one in the summer to replace Aguero because age etc. but these forwards scored the 3rd highest amount in PL history last season.

Its not that we lack the players to score these goals, they just need to put it in the back of the net like Pep said.

Its probably a confidence thing and big wins like this will fix it. Of we can win another couple in a row the confidence will go up and they will stop taking that unnecessary touch and the goals will start flowing.
It's definitely a confidence thing. We've gone from scoring with confidence and defending timidly last season without Laporte to shooting timidly and defending with confidence.

Hopefully it's like dominoes with the goalscoring. 1 leads to many.
