Saints (A) Post Match Thread

Not sure why Aguero is not being given much game time. On the bench today. How is he going to get match fit Any thoughts on this on?
I see what you're saying, but I think he's only on the bench as a last resort right now.

I think he's prone to his injury flaring up after a game in the way Mendy's was.

Plus I'm fairly sure that Fernandinho getting injured coming off the bench earlier this season has made Pep a million times more cautious about subs. I think it was from that point he used them less.

Take that every day and twice on Sundays. It's a blessing that Stones has found form and Dias is a rock because the full backs still a huge targeted weak spot for the opposition. Midfield needs legs ffs and sooner Sergio is fit (and his long term replacement bought) the better.

Huge win. We were in complete control against a flying Southampton.

The win was never in doubt at 1-0 with our improved back 4. Clean sheets are such a good feeling.

The worry here is still the finishing. The Bernardo chance, should have taken a touch and picked a corner to shoot with his weak foot. He was right in front of the keeper. The De Bruyne chance, needs to be scoring those, terrible shot. The chance in added time another goal that should be scored 10 out of 10 times.

Good away win, performance not very good overall, but a clean sheet is a clean sheet, I take it, 3 points was a must and Soton aint bad this season at all.

We need to rip Newcastle apart at home next weekend but also a Carabao game is there in midweek to , away to Arsenal.

We cannot let Liverpool build up a 10+ gap, we just cannot.

If Sterling or Gundo would have stuck one of those late gilt edge chances away against WBA

or KDB hadn’t missed his pen against Liverpool

we’d be 2nd now, with a game in hand
Ifs, buts and maybes... the rallying cries of the lost ones.

We are where we are because we deserve to be. The performances don't warrant anything better, right now.

Don't have SKY or BT sport so can't personally comment on their 'impartiality ' really (or obvious lack of!!)
Had it on mute watching the WBA match the other night also.
Thought I'd give 'the experts' a chance today but have to say , hardly the most 'objective ' of comments during todays game were they!!
Especially from the ex Southampton player Andy Townsend
