False 9
in fact pretty much no striker With kev and Bernardo kind of playing as two number tens.

did you watch the game?

Torres was deep for most of the 70 mins he was on the pitch so we weren't playing with a forward as a focal point all game.
I can only recall one ball into his feet where he got beyond the defender for a shot wide.

Bernardo and Gundogan looked like the only ones who give a shit. We are absolutely diabolical at finishing the most simplest of chances. Yet again we do not attack the goal when we have the advantage but will dribble down a blind alley or turn back and allow the opposition to regroup. Some of those shots at goal today were comical. Pass the ball in to the net. We aren’t expecting you to burst the net ffs.
The defence are an exception.

Despite the negative commentary willing Soton to win thought we controlled the game. Big shout out for Bernardo who pressed really well and looked more like the player we know he is...if we’d played with that tempo against WBA and United would have won both (assuming we would have put away our chances)

Couldn't believe the keeper saving the Gundogen shot , that was right in the top corner and Gundo couldn't have hit the ball any cleaner..it's almost like we are cursed at the moment..

A brilliant 3 points against a very cohesive and in form side.

The Centre Half partnership - superb, especially the reinvention of John Stones.

I thought Bernardo was much better today too,up until the last 10mins anyway.......he needs a run now.

Effort and desire was difficult to criticise.

We still struggle with decision making, why the fuck do we take that extra toch and overplay everything??

Our fitness continues to be an issue, also Peps sub use continues to baffle.

Mike Dean is fucking useless. He let alot of their niggles go and cracked down on ours, and where the fuck were 5 mins from?

Overall......a 7/10 and a great platform to build upon.

MOTM John Stones
Pretty much this.

just to highlight Stones is currently going through one of the most impressive career turnarounds I have ever seen in watching football for 35 odd years. He’s absolute top draw... even better than when he was in our 18/19 season. It’s fucking odd.. I thought he was another English player that peaked early and would drift off into mid table obscurity with another team when we inevitably sold him for peanuts this season.

He’s possibly the best CB (along with Dias) in the league at the moment and on e of the best in Europe.

Bizarre.

So attack wise they are the only ones to give a shit?

I dont agree,i just think we have players low on confidence, low on fitness and often being asked to play an unfamiliar role.

Hardly a recipe for an opposition thrashing.

We need a striker,it will solve so many issues.
